Preface

      Countless articles concerning eye care in journals (both online and in bound paper form), book chapters, throw-away journals, newspapers, and magazines continue to flood our mail, our Internet, and our offices. Last year, Advances in Ophthalmology and Optometry, Volume 2, attempted to help us assimilate all the new knowledge in a new way. We looked at the “hot” topics in the subspecialties of ophthalmology and optometry published in the past year. We asked experts in each of the pertinent fields to choose meaningful topics and to discuss them in terms of their relevance to us now and in the future.
